Clarks Inn, Aligarh

Aligarh, the administrative headquarters of the district in Uttar Pradesh, is the seat of the famous Aligarh Muslim University. It is predominantly known as a university town. When it was founded in 1875, this prestigious university was known as Muhammedan Anglo-Oriental College. The foundations of Aligarh are were set by the construction of the Aligarh Fort, back in the 16th century. The city has been mentioned in several notable literary works. For instance, Ibn Battuta’s Rihla talks about his travels to Aligarh, which was then known as Kol. Now, the city has a bustling crowd consisting of students, natives, corporate travellers and tourists.
